Mark Marinbach was born in Brooklyn,
NY on February 14th (St. Valentine's Day), 1940 where he grew up and
attended Brooklyn Tech and then Midwood High School. He then went to
the University of Buffalo for 2 years and while attending Long Island
University, got a part time job in a dental laboratory. He liked what
he saw in the lab and he quit L.I.U. to attend the New York School of
Mechanical Dentistry.
Mark finished the requirements of the
1000-hour course in 4 months and left the school with the knowledge,
not the diploma. He got a job as an apprentice technician in the
Brooklyn laboratory where he had worked as a messenger. Long hours and
hard work were Mark's life 6 days a week.
After several years as a technician,
he began a successful career in sales and public relations for the
laboratory he worked at. He became close friends with his boss and
mentor, Robert Wallace, and when they weren't working together, they
were fishing on Bob's boat.
In 1963 he met and fell in love with
his beautiful wife Susan. They have a wonderful son Eric, who works at
Nu-Life with his father. Susan teaches Home and Career Skills in a
middle school and in her "spare" time helps Mark as a
gracious hostess at business and social events.
Mark went into his own business, Nu-Life
Long Island, in 1973 with a 50% partner. In 1998 he bought out his
partner and is now the sole owner. Mark is still to be found working
in the office of the laboratory by 6:30 every morning and when he
finishes his work, he attends dental study club meetings in the
evenings.
Mark Marinbach has become a popular
lecturer speaking on different aspects of dental prosthetics centered
mainly on implants. He has spoken locally, nationally and
internationally at dental study clubs, conventions, seminars,
universities and special events. He is very honored to be on the
faculty of the prestigious Misch International Implant Institute,
where he can be found a dozen weekends a year.
He loves to go to dental lectures
pursuing several hundred hours of continuing education each year, and
also attends many major dental conventions as well as implant and
cosmetic specialty meetings.
Mark has achieved Active status in the
Academy of Osseointegration, earned a Fellowship and Masters status in
The International Association Of Dental Implant Technicians and in The
International Congress of Oral Implantologists. He earned the rank of
Mastership in The American Academy of Implant Prosthodontics, where he
is a past president of the Technicians Division. Mark is also a member
of The American Society of Osseointegration and the American Academy
of Implant Dentistry
Mr. Marinbach is a Certified Dental
Technician and is a member of the National Association of Dental
Laboratories. He is also a member of the American Academy of Cosmetic
Dentistry and the N.Y. Chapter of the A.A.C.D. Mark is a participating
member of the Association for Contemporary Dental Education.
Mark is also proud to be a
founding-charter member of The Puerto Vallarta Papilla Preservation
Society.
Susan, Mark and Eric make a yearly
pilgrimage to the beaches of Puerto Vailarta, Mexico. They love to
travel both locally and abroad. Most trips usually involve visits to
wineries and famous restaurants. Both Susan and Mark enjoy great food
and wine.
When he has spare time, he loves to
work in his vegetable garden. Photography and cuff link collecting are
other hobbies that he enjoys. Music, Broadway shows and movies are
other ways Mark likes to fill the gaps in his life. Most of all, he
loves to spend quality time with his immediate family and friends.
